The title should be Rånda, but for some reason deviantart doesn't allow å in their titles.

Possibly to be the cover of a book. The Rånda is a creature from Swedish folklore. She is the same as for example the Skogsrå and Skogsfru, and I think pretty much the same as the Norwegian Huldra. I'm not happy with this scan at all, the original looks a hundred times better.

Yay ! The Skogsrå and the Huldra I read about them in a great illustrated french encyclopedia about all folklores elves (another one is dedicated to fairies and another one to imps). Is the Rånda the very same as the Skogsrå or is it her opposite ? Yours seems so quiet and peaceful. (I still keep in memory the name of the author you gave me months ago but I dont know when I could buy it, thank you again !)

Beautiful! I'm sure you're right about the original being better, but we'll have to content ourselves with this:) It looks great!!
-I wish I knew more about Scandinavian/Swedish folklore -this creature looks very mysterious to me:)

Thank you! They're exactly the same. She's a seductive being who can be very tricky and quite evil but sometimes helpful. My favourite of her character traits is that she thinks all men should be the same height, so if she sees two men of different heights, she will stretch one out and chop one off.

I found this wikipedia article on the huldra and skogsrå [link] which gives a basic explanation. And as I said in the above comment: My favourite of her character traits is that she thinks all men should be the same height, so if she sees two men of different heights, she will stretch one out and chop one off.
